PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk denies that there was a fire at the Company’s plant as reported by several media.
“Those reports are inaccurate. I want to stress that there is no fire at the tire manufacturing facility of PT Gajah Tunggal” said Catharina Widjaja, Director of PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk to the media in Jakarta on Wednesday June 17th, 2020.
Catharina Widjaja further mentions that the fire which took place on Wednesday early morning was at a paint factory close to the tire plant of Gajah Tunggal. “Once again, we need to clarify that there was no fire at our factory”, she said.
Catharina finds this clarification important to avoid any misunderstanding resulting from inaccurate news reports. Moreover, as a public company, PT Gajah Tunggal needs to be managed in a transparent and responsible manner.
